The primary online source for Logan County District Court case information is Kansas CaseSearch. It is a statewide Kansas Judicial Branch search tool, not a separate Logan County database. The 15th Judicial District Court Records page says public court records are available online or at each courthouse through a public access portal. If a public record is not available through the portal, the same district guidance says it is available at the courthouse.
Use the statewide search for public District Court case information, then confirm the result belongs to Logan County. Oakley Municipal Court matters can be separate from District Court records. Appellate cases are searched through the appellate portal, while federal cases are searched through PACER or federal court terminals. Criminal history checks from the KBI are also separate from the court case file.

Expanded access is not required for ordinary Logan County court records searches, but it explains why some users see registration options outside the basic search flow.
Types of Logan County Court Records
Logan County District Court is part of the 15th Judicial District and handles the main trial-court record set for the county. Logan County Court Records Access Law
Kansas access to public records starts with the Kansas Open Records Act. K.S.A. 45-216 states the public policy that records are open for inspection unless another law provides otherwise. K.S.A. 45-218 governs inspection requests, responses, refusals, and fees. K.S.A. 45-219 allows agencies to charge fees for copies, staff time, and related costs.
Electronic court access is also controlled by Kansas Supreme Court Rule 22. Rule 22 governs public electronic district and appellate court case records, including what can be accessed through portals and courthouse terminals. Restricted Logan County Court Records
Not every Logan County court record is public. The 15th Judicial District records page lists sealed cases and sealed records as unavailable through the public access channel. It also lists adoption records, certain criminal investigation records, expunged criminal records, many juvenile and child-in-need-of-care records, and grand jury proceedings as records not available online. Some domestic and family information may be restricted from online viewing even when the courthouse can process a public request.
Expungement and sealing rules are separate from the ordinary search path. K.S.A. 21-6614 allows petitions to expunge certain convictions, arrest records, and diversions. K.S.A. 22-2410 covers certain arrest-record expungements. K.S.A. 38-2312 covers juvenile-record expungement. A record that has been sealed or expunged should not be treated as missing just because it does not appear in a search result.
Logan County Court Records Requests
For public Logan County court records not available online, submit a written request to the Clerk of the District Court in the county where the case was filed. The 15th Judicial District allows mailed requests, hand-delivered requests, emailed requests, or a Kansas Open Records Request Form. Costs must be paid before a record is released, and reasonable fees may include staff time, expenses, and third-party charges needed to process electronic records.

The Kansas Judicial Branch announced CaseSearch in November 2025 as the replacement for the former Kansas District Court Public Access Portal. The release says CaseSearch provides public district court case information and documents online, with more search options, more detailed information, improved function, event filtering, financial-detail data, and ID.me verification for approved expanded-access users. It also says some public district court records remain available only at courthouse terminals.
